Tourism

Families, students and other groups frequently take tours of the farm. We recently opened our new tour center dome at 8461 Lincoln Road and offer trolley rides down to the farm. We are a Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Site.

Tour options

Tours are available Monday through Saturday from April to November. By reservation only. Call (319) 939-2187 to make an appointment.

Walk-through tour

A guided tour that takes you through the process of getting milk from the farm to your table. You will see calves, the milking parlor, cow barns, the creamery, our wallabies and farming equipment, plus enjoy a dish of ice cream made on the farm. All participants, $6.00; children 3 and younger, free.

Hands-on tour

All the features listed above plus feed a calf, make homemade butter, milk a cow by hand (milking times are 4 to 6:30 p.m.) and perhaps pet a wallaby. Refreshments included. All participants, $10.00.

School or daycare tour

Children $4.00; teachers/chaperones free.

Bus tour

$6.00 per person; guides/drivers free.
