J & J Dairy
The Jay and Jeanne Hansen farm has been in the family since Jay's ancestors immigrated from Germany in 1861. Jay and Jeanne have been dairying since 1976. Today, 150 purebred Holsteins are milked on the farm.
Our herd originated in 1953. We currently own 175 cows and 190 heifers, all purebred Holsteins registered under the Jaywood prefix. We operate a closed herd, selling our surplus cows. 86% go to other herds for breeding and 14 percent go to involuntary culling. We currently have 6 excellent cows and 44 VGs.
